Thank you for sharing and your kind words. Healthcare today is “captured” by the pharmaceutical companies. I’m teaching a path for individuals to take back their health and happiness. Our lives belong to us and we, the individual are in control of them. Dr. Siegel’s approach is visionary and we need to bring that humanity back.
Bernie Siegel , what a blast from the past. I remember hearing a lot about him (even back then without the internet). It's a pity his work and the things you've written about hasn't penetrated the consciousness of the medical field seemingly at all. Although I do recognise that there are a number of doctors post-covid who have woken up to things beyond the limited conventional western medicine model.
Bernie Siegel’s books are helpful to anyone, even if you don’t have cancer. It’s a perspective on health and wellness that I wish more health care professionals shared. Despite all the ‘medical breakthroughs’ it does seem we’re going backwards sometimes.
Just beautiful. I was just at a dinner party with physicians researchers and healers last night. Jerry Jampolsky fell from my lips, and his center for attitudinal living way back in the 80’s. I was similarly pondering how little has changed since, how relevant thinkers and healers from decades ago are to what is *not happening today.
I attended a few of those support groups, in Marin county, and wow 🤩 how we could use this holistic framework and template, now.
So refreshing to see that you are thinking of this as well. Thank you for this synchronous read, Mary Ann!
I am so honored to be in the healing space. Even though I am a physical therapist, I work with the mind, body and spirit. It’s my life’s work and I truly love it here. I write about some of these things on my substack. And I have a podcast called Beyond the Pelvis where we discuss this. Love is really showing up for me lately. It truly is the best medicine. It’s the source of life, why would it not be healing?
James- thank you so much for your humbling words. I’m deeply touched by your honesty. I wasn’t quite sure how this would land with people- now I know my writing is helpful. 🙏🏻
Mary Ann - thank you for this exquisite essay. So much inspiration in it. I spent 40 year not loving and at worst loathing myself at times. I hit ground zero and reversed course and began loving myself. It’s a journey and I continue to learn new ways to do so. Your essay contributes to my journey. 🙏
I found this super insightful - “when you make a decision based on cold reason alone, it’s usually made to satisfy others. Intuitive decisions are made for ourselves.”
I am learning to “hear my intuition, trust it and act on it” and this perspective you share offers a distinction that is powerful. Thank you again.
Hi James, I hope you (and Mary Ann) don’t mind me chiming in, but I read your share with interest. I write about intuition and authentic inner listening on my Substack, if you’re interested.
Mahalo …and best wishes on your journey. ❤️Jessica

It is. We wouldn’t be here without it.
So beautiful. Sending love. ❤️
