A 2024 Study Says Ginger Can Ease Digestion
✨ 1% Better Mondays: Science insight with medicinal herbs
Let food be thy medicine.

Happy Monday morning!
Feeling a little bloated after meals lately?
A 2024 study found ginger improves digestion by 20%. Traditional herbalists have long used ginger (Zingiber officinale) to soothe the digestive system. Ginger is renowned for supporting digestive function by stimulating digestive juices, promoting gastric motility, and relieving gastrointestinal discomfort. It’s another example of food as medicine and a reminder of ginger’s powerful benefits.
This week’s tip is a recipe for ginger tea, which is recommended for digestive problems. Drink 1-3 cups per day for digestive relief.
Fresh Ginger Black Tea
2 cups water
2 teaspoons black loose tea (Assam or Ceylon works well)
1 inch fresh ginger rhizome grated
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
Bring water and grated ginger to a boil in a small saucepan.
Lower the heat and simmer for 15 minutes (the longer you simmer, the stronger the ginger).
Add the loose black tea and steep for 3–5 minutes. (Adding tea is optional)
Strain into a mug.
Stir in honey and lemon juice.
Sip slowly while warm and enjoy ginger’s therapeutic benefits.
That’s the power of small, steady change.

I never thought of combining ginger with black tea, but I will give it a try. Is it just a two fer one? I use ginger for better digestion regularly.
When I was having gut and food issues a while back, ginger was the only thing that made me feel less nauseous
